Yubo Zhou’s practice focuses on IP asset and risk management, with an emphasis on patent portfolio strategy, multi-jurisdiction patent preparation and prosecution, international licensing and transactions, and cross-border IP disputes.
He has built litigation-grade patent portfolios across multiple jurisdictions for Fortune 500 companies and venture-backed startups. He advises technology founders on leveraging patents as strategic assets to strengthen fundraising narratives, attract investors, and reinforce long-term defensibility. He has also closed transactions with IP aggregators, operating companies, and investors, often involving assets he helped build or acquire from the outset. With extensive international experience, he has guided clients through litigation, post-grant proceedings, settlements, and licensing negotiations across jurisdictions and cultures.
Yubo holds a B.S. in Physics from Xiamen University and an M.S.E.E. from Stanford University, where he also completed coursework at the Graduate School of Business. Before entering the IP field, he worked as an electrical engineer in Silicon Valley.
